Back in Utah

Well, we got back from Costa Rica on Tuesday. The trip was a blast, but it is good to be home and back to the familiarities of Orem, Utah. I didn’t get to work much in Costa Rica so my team was super behind when I got back. Additionally, I had a ton of homework to get done. The pressure of homework and getting the team caught up led to a very busy week. I feel like I haven’t had any time to relax.  Next week we are going to Hawaii! I feel bad for abandoning my team again, but I am so excited to be able to go back to Hawaii. I haven’t been in at least six or seven years. I know, it’s a bit ridiculous that I’m complaining about not having gone to Hawaii in a while when so many people never get to go, but I just love Hawaii so much! Get ready for a massive update on how the trip went!

Costa Rica (part two)

I  survived bungee jumping! Walking up to the edge of the tram, leaping out and then plunging literally hundreds of feet towards the ground was exhilarating. I will definitely do it again! After bungee jumping we drove to Tamarindo, a coastal town on the east side of Costa Rica. Tamarindo is pretty touristy but still amazing. We’ve spent most of our time at the beach laying out and surfing. Speaking of surfing, we rented surf boards and I cracked my board right in half on the first wave I caught. I had to pay $250 to replace the board which made me mad because it was a crappy board. That said, surfing has been a fun experience. It is challenging and tiring, but that adds to the thrill of getting up and riding a wave. We’re going to try out a new beach tomorrow. I’m looking forward to finding out how the new beach will affect how I surf.

Costa Rica (part one)

I  am in Costa Rica this week! My sister and I flew in on Tuesday night and then drove a few hours to La Fortuna, where we stayed for a few day. The crazy part about the drive was that it was about 65 miles, but it took three hours. For most of the way there we were on what seemed to me like little backroads, but I guess that’s just how it is here because we haven’t driven on what I would deem a “main road.” My favorite part about La Fortuna were the hot springs. They were everywhere! The springs we went to were very relaxing and had a gorgeous view. After La Fortuna we drove to Monte Verde, where we are right now. It is much cooler and foggier here but still so pretty. We’re eating lunch right now and then we’ll be off to go Bungee jumping. If I survive that endeavor, you’ll hear about the second half of our trip next week!

Movies Movies Movies

This week was a week of movies. I watched Sherlock Holmes 1, Sherlock Holmes 2, and three episodes of Loki. I was pleasantly at how good the first Sherlock Holmes was, although I fell asleep during a crucial part of the ending so I definitely need to rewatch that. The second Sherlock Holmes movie was fantastic as well even though it didn’t have as strong of a plot line. As great as the two Sherlock Holmes movies were, Loki takes the cake for best film I watched this week. After watching the first episode last week, I was a bit nervous for the series. It really wasn’t very good at first, but that’s how wandavision was and it turned out to be my favorite show of all time so I had some hope that Loki would turn out the same and it did. The plot is developing excellently and has a ton of mystery which makes it fun to talk about with friends between episodes.
